Dusk, and a long way down
The brown pelican, at sunset
Riding the swell, circling up on a warm draft, then folding up and falling out of the sky.
A low sun sits on the horizon over a calm sea. A pelican rests on the swell, lifts off, circles up on a thermal, glides across the sun, folds its wings, and dives into the water. After a splash it paddles back to the swell.
